I’m Jerry McCollum, photographer, artist, and designer. My interests are the arts, science, philosophy, & spirituality. I cover all my bases that way. What I don’t understand one way, I try to explain to myself in another way (big laugh).
Art, for me, is the external expression of an internal process of reconciliation. Each of us is essentially a spiritual being on a human journey, trying to create a life of personal beauty and symmetry, so whenever we do something with presence and quality - whether making a cup of tea, planting a garden, or reading aloud - that is art, the art of living.
My studio and this blog are evolving expressions of my personal journey.
In PalouseWorks Culture, a cup of coffee recapitulates phylogeny, especially if it’s from the Green Frog (big smile).
Let’s grab a cup and talk! I want to hear your stories.
You can email me directly at PalouseWorks Studio.
I am also Coordinator for Arts and Culture at Washington State University.
I chair the Visual, Performing, and Literary Arts Committee (we call it VPLAC).
I have a budget for bringing in artists and performers, and I manage the new CUB Gallery, a small but strategically placed showcase for art that gets seen by over 500 people a day when it’s open. I am interested in talking with you about your work if you are interested in showing your work in an upscale university environment. My colleagues and I are happy to review your portfolio.
My WSU telephone is 509-335-2313, and this is my WSU email.
