Deadline: February 1
All women are invited to submit painting, photography, sculpture, jewelry, textile art, pottery, ceramics, basketry, and other art media to the 5th annual Reinterpreting Reality exhibition.
In 2009, Reinterpreting Reality becomes for the first time an interstate, multiple venue event that examines women’s artistic expressions about racism, multiculturalism, gender, sexual identity, stereotypes, and just plain celebration of womanhood in all her forms and manifestations.
Simultaneous exhibitions at five locations in both Washington and Idaho make this event groundbreaking and historic for regional women artists - the first ever, interstate, all women’s exhibition in the U.S.
Compton Union Art Gallery, Washington State University
Wawawai Canyon Winery Gallery, Pullman, Washington
Neill Public Library, Pullman, Washington
The 1912 Center, Moscow, Idaho
Above the Rim Gallery, Moscow, Idaho
Exhibitions will run simultaneously the entire month of March (Women’s History Month), with special receptions in Moscow and Pullman, and a Women’s Recognition Luncheon at Washington State University featuring selected artwork and special guest speaker Anita Hill.
